Ömer Serkan Bakır

He was born in Istanbul in 1976. He graduated from Istanbul University, Control Systems Technologies and later on from Marmara University Fine Arts Academy, Photography. He prepared the first digital photography magazine, Photo Digital, in 1999 and became the editor in chief of this magazine.

He organized the first web-based photography competition. He gave consultancy for several photograpy competition. He executed many photography exhibitions; 9 personal exhibition and 39 with other photographers.

He published 3 albums consisted of his photographs. He attended numerous seminars, panels, discussion forums and competition committees. His works of photography won awards in national and international competitions.

He gave lessons on photography at several universities and institutions. His essays on computer technologies, digital photography, collecting and travel were published on some magazines and newspapers.

He also achieved the slide shows of his works “On the ship”, “Life on Water”, ”Darkened star of the East: Iran”, “Angkor Temples”, “Barcelona”, “Life was a wonderful day”, “At Bazaar...”, “From west to east lives” and “North&Middle Pakistan”.

He is still working on some photography projects. He is also the member of BMD (IT Journalists Society). He is still editor in chief of Fotoğraf Dergisi.
